Those who are in Nanotechnology, please add to the list of 13. Perhaps we can have 20 or more.

Polymethylmethacrylate is toxic in preparation, at least the procedure I used to embed teeth in for cutting by microsaw back in 1979.

We are an affirmative action-equal opportunity great group of scientists, engineers, technologists and others from or in the Philippines.

My abstract is on Environmental Health and Safety and the Need for Environmental Regulations and Policies in

Nanotechnology and is in the latter part of http://ftcuareohs.blogspot.com This includes the keywords.

You can just browse through it or speed read. Knowledge is Golden even if it is Painful sometimes and Ignorance is Bliss

depending on who is Ignorant or Innocent.

Now the previous version of the abstract is in http://ftcuareohsnanotechnology.blogspot.com

with attendant additions. Notice that the funding was less in the National Nanotechnology Initiative in the previous months.

For the Nanotechnologist, please look at

Abstract
Environmental issues in polymer processing can be related to materials/energy balances in terms of volatile emissions generated during manufacture and selection of appropriate material/energy recovery options for the manufactured product. This review presents information related to the types of volatiles emanating during the processing of commodity thermoplastics and reinforced thermosets along with analytical methods for their measurement. The identification of volatiles and the development of analytic techniques for measuring their concentration in the workplace are of paramount importance to establish or revise threshold limit values that would minimize exposure to hazardous chemical substances. With respect to material/energy recovery options applicable to fabricated polymer-based parts, this article reviews methodologies based on life-cycle analysis principles to establish an approximate hierarchy of energy recovery potential. It is shown that the overall energy requirements for most secondary (melt reprocessing) or tertiary (chemical) recycling alternatives are well below those of landfilling (highest energy consumption) and for some alternatives closer to those of reuse (lowest energy consumption). © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Corn Bioplastic or Green Plastic Container and also Nanotechnology

http://www.epa.gov/ord/sciencenews/scinews_field_dreams.htm

The PHB biodegradable plastic that I am producing in my technology is really an excellent material for nanotechnology development, for it to be more useful in its many biomedical applications including controlled drug release and implantable devices. Hence, I am now on a tight pursuit of getting angel investors so that I could roll the project on and produce the plastic. You are in nanotech as well, so may I encourage you to be with me? Would you?

Regarding the PAASE membership, last year I attended it at Cebu at University of San Carlos, also I did a lecture on bioinformatics after the PAASE to the USC, together with the other PAASE members. Maam Gie and Seville (my two Advisees in my PhD program) already asked me to be a member. But I have not really followed it up nor they remember about it. It is a good thing you asked about it, hence I am sending you my updated CV for your perusal. Thanks and hope to see you here in the Philippines.

Best regards,
Gloria
